Why We Started

We built Una because we’ve lived this tension ourselves — personally and professionally.

Shruti was navigating the relentless pace of modern ambition. Her days were full — rich and demanding — and no version of “wellbeing” seemed designed for that reality.
The advice assumed blank calendars, perfect routines, and the same willpower all the time, everyday.

But she didn’t need more information. She needed a healthy habit system that could adapt - one small, meaningful step at a time.

At the same time, Ritwik was immersed in the science of habit formation.
As an expert in the neuroscience of motivation, he was exploring how small, consistent actions shape your success— and how technology can tailor consistency to feel intuitive, not effortful.

As partners in life, we were having the same conversations every night — about ambition, relentless pressure, our frenetic pace, and the invisible load women carry. And we kept returning to the same truth:

Women don’t need more health advice.
They need a healthy habit system that fits into the life they’re already living.

Then Things Changed

Everything shifted when we stopped chasing perfection, and started building something smarter.

Shruti began syncing her habits to her energy and cycle. Not doing less — but doing what mattered, when it mattered most. Progress stopped feeling fragile. It became inevitable.

Ritwik translated this into technology. Using behavioural science and AI, he developed a system that could offer one small, expert-backed action a day, tuned to a woman’s
unique rhythm.

No fluff. No guilt. Just aligned, sustainable momentum.

That’s how Una was born. Not as a wellness app — but as a movement. Where science meets lived experience. Where ambition meets alignment. Where women can finally stop
trying to do it all — and start doing what
moves them forward.

Shruti Hiremath

CO-FOUNDER

Shruti has spent her career in high‑pressure, intellectually demanding roles where performance is non‑negotiable and time is scarce. She understands the reality of ambitious women balancing responsibility at work with mental load, health, and family — and the quiet guilt of feeling behind even when doing everything right.

Her work with fast‑growing and global organisations has given her a deep understanding of how systems and incentives shape human behaviour. This experience has honed her ability to cut through complexity and design solutions that hold up in real life, not just ideal scenarios.

This blend of lived experience and commercial clarity is what shaped Una. Shruti brings an empathetic yet rigorously practical perspective to building a healthy‑habit system designed for the realities of women’s lives — helping them move from overwhelm to progress with consistency.

Dr. Ritwik Niyogi

CO-FOUNDER

Ritwik has spent over 15 years at the intersection of neuroscience and AI, driven by a deep interest in why motivation is so hard to sustain and how real‑life habits actually form. His work explores the science of motivation and the behavioural patterns that shape everyday decisions — not the idealised versions of them.

His career spans world‑class research institutions and applied AI innovation teams, giving him a rare blend of scientific depth and expertise in building products that are personalised yet scale to millions of people. He has worked across domains from mental health to large‑scale cloud computing, translating cutting‑edge research into tools and systems used globally.

This combination is what shaped Una. Ritwik brings his expertise in the science of habit building and motivation to creating a healthy‑habit system that works with a woman’s cycle and her real life — turning intention into consistent, sustainable action.

Born from experience. Proven by evidence. Backed by science.

Una is not a
wellness app or wearable.

Una is a system built to keep ambitious women from running on empty. So they don't have to shrink their ambition to sustain it.

Most systems assume linear energy. Women don’t operate linearly.

When systems don’t adapt, women compensate, and slowly run on empty. Una adapts with you instead - so you don’t have to shrink your ambition to sustain it.

Born from experience. Proven by evidence. Backed by science.
